KWAME BROWN
- F - Glynn Academy -- 6'11, 230 --
High School
Jordan and the Wizards will likely go with an Eddie whether it be Eddie or Eddy. Griffin will be able to contribute more than Curry and his versatility will allow him to do more for this team which needs all the help they can get. |
|
TYSON CHANDLER - F
- Dominiguez HS -- 7'1, 220 --
High School
Michael Olowokandi hasn't lived up to the status of being a No.1 Overall. Curry is a major talent who, with Olowokandi there, could have some time to develop and add even more talent to a young team. |
|
SHANE BATTIER - F -
Duke -- 6'8, 215 -- Senior
Brown will remind many of Kevin Garnett. He is raw but very athletic. The Hawks will have to decide between Brown and Shane Battier but with Dermarr Johnson already here, the PF position is more of a need. |
|
EDDY CURRY - C - Thornwood
HS -- 6'11, 295 -- High
School
This would be an ideal pick for the Bulls. They may trade up for Curry but if Battier is here then he would be a good fit. He would bring a positive and winning attitude to a team that needs it. Plus he's buds with Elton Brand. |
|
EDDIE GRIFFIN - F -
Seton Hall -- 6'9, 220 -- Freshman
Chandler is a great talent who is right in Golden State's backyard. Though he is a 7'footer, he is a projected Forward. No matter where he plays, he one of this class' best shot blockers and a great talent. |
|
JASON RICHARDSON -
G - Michigan State -- 6'6, 220 --
Sophomore
Richardson is an exciting player who will fill seats in Memphis. He is the type of player who can take some of the scoring load off of Shareef Abdur-Rahim. If he's gone, look for a Center. |
|
RODNEY WHITE - F -
UNC Charlotte -- 6'9, 230 --
Freshman
Diop is very raw, he hasn't played much basketball but he has the body of an NBA player already. He will at least be a good rebounder and defender as a rookie as he continues to develop offensively. |
|
PAU GASOL - F - Barcelona,
Spain -- 7'1, 240 -- 21 yrs. old
White is a great talent who didn't really get much attention at Charlotte. He has nice touch and ball skills for a guy his size. He is a tough rebounder and should continue to develop as he is still very young. |
|
JOE JOHNSON - F - Arkansas
-- 6'9, 225 -- Sophomore
The Pistons would nab White if he were here but I feel that Center is a bigger position of need. Woods appears more mature and would be able step in. He showed in the NCAA Tournament that he can be a factor. |
|
KEDRICK BROWN - F - O | |
TROY MURPHY - F - Notre
Dame -- 6'11, 240 -- Junior
This is just a good fit. Murphy would give the Celtics even more scoring punch to go with Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker. He would likely be their starting Power Forward. |
|
DeSAGANA DIOP - C -
Oak Hill Academy -- 7'0, 310 --
High School
Johnson could go higher than this with good workouts but if not, Seattle would love to have him. He is an excellent ball handler for his size and is the versatile player Seattle needs. |
|
MICHAEL BRADLEY - F
- Villinova -- 6'10, 240 --
Junior
Bradley is a great scorer from the Power Forward spot. The Rockets need frontcourt help and if Bradley is here, the Rockets should be ecstatic. If not look for either Pau Gasol or Zach Randolph. |
|
The Warriors will go with a Center or Power Forward with their first pick, so expect this second pick (from Indiana) to be a Small Forward or a point guard. Gasol is a great scorer who could become a Dirk Nowitski type. |
|
ZACH RANDOLPH - F -
Michigan State -- 6'9, 270 -- Freshman
Randolph would be a nice fit. He is inexperienced but he is a big body and has nice touch around the rim. Idealy, the Magic would take a Center in this position but it depends on how they feel about Brendan Haywood. |
|
BRENDAN HAYWOOD - C
- North Carolina -- 7'0, 270 - Senior
If Orlando doesn't pick Haywood, the Hornets might. Elden Campbell is getting older and this pick would allow Jammal Maggloire to play Power Forward. Haywood is one of the more underrated players in the draft. |
|
RICHARD JEFFERSON -
F - Arizona -- 6'7, 215 -- Junior
Jefferson at the 3 and Vince Carter at the 2. Toronto would have a high flying combo with this pick. Jefferson is an exceptional athlete who showed he could shoot in the NCAA Tournament. |
|
JOSEPH FORTE - G -
North Carolina -- 6'4, 175 --
Sophomore
The Rockets need frontcourt help but the thought of having a Francis-Forte backcourt combo may be too enticing to pass up. Forte is a dynamic scorer whose only drawback is his skinny frame. |
|
ALVIN JONES - C - Georgia
Tech -- 6'11, 260 -- Senior
The heir apperant to Arvydas Sabonis, Jones would be a good fit because of his defense. His offensive game is improving as well. Portland is the wild card of the first round though as they could go a number of directions here. |
|
GILBERT ARENAS - G
- Arizona -- 6'3, 190 --
Sophomore
Trajan Langdon seems more effective as a spark coming off the bencg. The Cavs need a more explosive player at the 2 and Arenas would give them just that. He is an explosive scorer. |
|
JASON COLLINS - F/C
- Stanford -- 6'11, 255 -- Senior
Collins would be a great pick if he were around. The Celtics have three 1st Round picks and it would be wise to use them all. Collins is a guy they can play at both Center and Power Forward. |
|
OUSMANE CISSE - F -
St.Jude Academy -- 6'8, 240 -- High
School
After getting Forte and Bradley earlier, this third pick could be used on a developmental player like Cisse. He is a very powerful player who is a good rebounder and defender. |
|
OMAR COOK - G - St.Johns
-- 6'1, 180 -- Freshman
Orlando is in need of a point guard. Cook doesn't always look to score and that's exactly what Orlando needs, a passer like Cook to set up the likes of Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill and Mike Miller. |
|
TRENTON HASSELL - G - Austin Peay
-- 6'5, 195
Hassell is a from a smaller program but the scouts love his potential. The Jazz don't have any pressing needs at the moment and can afford to develop a talent like Hassell. |
|
KEN JOHNSON - F/C -
Ohio State -- 6'11, 230 -- Senior
The Kings will probably lose Chris Webber and Vlade Divac is getting older so they need frontcourt help. Johnson can play Center as well as Power Forward so he would fill some holes for them. |
|
GERALD WALLACE - G/F
- Alabama -- 6'7, 210 -- Freshman
Wallace is raw but has lots and lots of athletic abillity. If the Grizz go with Richardson early, then Wallace isn't as big of a need but he may be too good to pass up because he can back up Abdur Rahim as well. |
|
JEFF TREPAGNIER - G
- USC -- 6'4, 195 -- Senior
The second Trojan in three picks to go is Trepagnier who is a high flyer with a 45 inch vertical. He is dynamic on the break and would be a nice complement to Derek Anderson. |
